Peppercorns has been there forever! What hasn't changed is the great service and the great food. The wait staff was so kind they... gave us employee discount on the wine which was uncalled for but came in handy since we were celebrating a birthday. And don'tskip dessert! Read more

This restaurant is a wonderful hidden gem! It is a lovely, quiet place with great wait staff and fabulous food. The atmosphere,... with soft music and ambient lighting, make it a place we will definitely return to again and again. Our drinks were original anddelicious. The food was hot, expertly prepared, elegant presentation and the menu offers a wide variety of choices. The servicewas efficient and responsive, without being overbearing. Dessert was out-of-this world. So hard to choose from the dessert tray!We recommend this place as a great alternative to the usual chain restaurant fare at an affordable price. Read more

Sad to say (sad for me) I forgot the restaurant was even there. It is one of those great places that is constant and has... longevity. Probably over 15 years ago we went there for Brunch a few times. I got reintroduced when I had a craving for goodold school French Onion Soup. My husband suggested I google FOS near me. Voila! Peppercorns popped up. I am soooo happy itdid!! We went that night and boy oh boy the soup was EXACTLY what one expects in a great onion soup. DELISH! My husband had thelamb and I had a shrimp truffle pasta dish. I do have to say the shrimp was a bit overcooked, but overall the dish was yummy.Service excellent!! Imagine my surprise when we were invited to celebrate a friends birthday here a few weeks later! I madesure to order the soup again and decided to go with the lamb chops. Everything was terrific, but my lamb was def more of a MWrather than the MR I had ordered. Even with the overcooking on my meals, I will still definitely go here again. A really nicelocal place. Heck even the bar had a "Cheers" vibe to it, seemed like everyone knew each other. Great longstanding Hicksville eatery. Went here for dinner for the first time after living in the area for 30+ years. I can... honestly say I understand why this place has been around so long. The establishment itself was amazing. Located right off 107with plenty of parking. The ambiance and decor were great. It was kind of like mixing an old 1920s style restaurant with a newermote casual dining experience. I especially loved some of the old pictures of Hicksville on the walls. For starters, we did thebaked clams and the fried zucchini flowers. The clams had great flavor and were clearly more than just bread and clam which wasa nice change. The zucchini flowers were even better. Fried perfectly and just the right amount of cheese. A nice change fromyour run of the mill appetizer. For the main, we got chicken cordon bleu, Marinated flat iron steak, mashed potatoes, andasparagus. The sides were good as expected. The chicken had a great breaded crust but was still juicy inside. The ham and cheeseinside were bursting with flavor, as was the sauce on the chicken.. The steak was cooked perfectly. Tender and flavorful with agreat portion size. My only complaint was that it was a but cold. I'm sure the waiter could have solved this but we decided tojust eat. All together, great experience. Will be back here for sure. Read more
