Stopped for a lunch on the patio on this beautiful Sunday afternoon at one of the most romantic and scenic hideaway spots in... this fabulous mountain town. The food is delicious as always along with great service and atmosphere second to none! I come hereoften to capture beautiful weddings on canvas in an heirloom painting. Last night was a gorgeous mid summer wedding at thestunning Old Edwards @halfmilefarm. My precious couple said their vows here by this peaceful mountain lake. Family and friendshave come to this very special spot to celebrate their love. The rains threatened all afternoon but held off until the ceremonywas over and cocktails were being enjoyed under the tent. Did mother nature let go with a fury typical summerthunder????????????????? We ate here on a Saturday in June. Couldn’t make a reservation so we put our name in and they would call/text us. That isn’t... an issue as there are so many great shops in this town. Got a call our table was ready. Seated and enjoyed our little spot towait for some food. We both enjoyed our appetizers and our lunch. Food was good. The service was great. It was very pleasant sitting outside at the wine garden. It was a perfect 72°F. The sweet... tea was excellent. Not too sweet and a little on the strong side. I like it that way. I had a bowl of chili and corn bread. Itwas OK, but it didn’t have much flavor. I didn’t want it spicy hot, but it needed a little more of something. Salt andpepper helped. I also had the Smoked Trout Melt. It was good but the capers kind of overwhelmed the rest of the sandwich. Therye bread really balanced it out though. Read more
The food was delicious. The service was efficient...too efficient. We went for an anniversary dinner, as our server was aware.... We anticipated a leisurely evening. But I had hardly taken the first sip of my wine when the entree was in front of me. Nothingto do but eat it. End of story - we had paid and left within an hour. A must when you are in Highlands North Carolina. They do fabulous job and treat you special. The facility is beautiful and the... food is excellent also. We always make it a point to eat here on out annual trip to this area. Very convenient in downtown witheasy access and parking also. Ate there last night again and it only seems to get better!
