Tonight my husband and I wanted to have a date night out by the lake. We have seen this place many times but never have tried... it. We are foodies and love Mexican so we decided to give it a try even though there were so many bad reviews. Unfortunately, wewill never be back. When I went in the gal at the register had to ask the manager every question I asked. Questions like,"Do youhave marinated pork tacos, do you have chorizo tacos, and do you have fish tacos". The manager had to ask the chef the samequestions. No one knew what marinated pork tacos were. But then I saw El Pastor on the menu and realized that they did have itbut they just didnt know that it was the same thing. They had a chorizo plate but told me they could put it into a taco. Sothats what i ordered with a side of guac and chips. We took it with us and ate in the car later. So now I'll get to the detailsof the food. The fact that it had no kick and all tasted the same was the least of our worries. What we thought was chorizo wasactually egg and ground beef. It was looking like it had stringy cheese in it too but there was no taste of cheese. My husbandjoked that maybe their son liked it this way so they made their "chorizo" tacos this way for everyone. We decided to move on tothe guac and chips. One bite(and they gave us an unusually large portion-probably to get rid of it) and I almost threw up. Thetomatoes were so old they had this weird after taste they spread thru the whole thing I am hoping we dont get sick. We aregetting ice cream now to hopefully wash this bad taste out of our mouths. My review is for tamales only. Best tamales in town for sure, maybe even in southwest Michigan. Tried tamales from every area... restaurant and these are the best. Pork are the best of the best. Cannot attest to other menu items, although I wascontemplating rating 4, instead of 5, stars due to mediocre rice and beans. Point is, buy your tamales from here. Oh, and bringcash, because tamales are cash only Read more
