This restaurant serves Yoshoku, Japanese interpretation of Western food. I had the beef stew with rice and salad. The simple... tomato soup was surprising good. Great service. They were pretty busy, so getting there a little later might help with getting atable. There’s also two host stands, one restaurant has the bigger menu and the other is only tonkatsu. Read more
We were lucky and didn't have a reservation but still got a great meal! Price was a bit steep for me but after I started eating... it all felt worth the cost. Atmosphere was very humble and to be honest it didn't match the quality of the meal! Location, westumbled on this when we tried to go next door... No regrets though. Pretty central spot for Waikiki. This was my second visit. They have 2 entrance. One is for Tonkatsu and another is focused on Yoshoku. (You can order western... style Japanese food and Tonkatsu) My favorite was Rolled Cabbage…Tonkatsu would be the normal choice, but I didn’t feellike fried food that day. And it is not so often you come across with Rolled cabbage at the restaurant. FYI, Japanese Yoshokumeans the Japanese style western food. Fried oyster had tonkatsu crumbs on it, nice and crispy. They also have the varietyplate which you get to try everything from a bite size Tonkatsu to Japanese Omurice. The set comes with soup and salad. Riceor sliced Baguette to chose. Friendly service. Leaving a review for the yoshoku side (western cuisine) which is the right side of the restaurant. Food overall felt pretty... standard. We ordered tonkatsu too, but it didn’t really blow my mind like I was hoping for it to. Tasted like a lot oftonkatsu I’ve had here in LA. I wonder if it tastes different on the left side of the restaurant? Prices are a little steeperthan I expected as well. Read more
