Very kind staff, very good food, The Island Fries appetizer is the best fries we have had anywhere in the world so far. The Fish... in the Entree menu is excellent (if you want it well done, ask for it explicitly), so is the shrimp. Of course, when it gets tofood, reviews are highly personalized and opinionated. We asked the owner, he said all fish and shrimp in the menu are local, which is superb. You would not want to eat imported sea food in Hawaii. The garden view is fantastic and Hawaiian style. Theplace is quiet, and satisfactorily clean. All tables are outdoors in the backyard of a hotel (and so rather hard to find with amap alone. You can ask the lobby receptionist for direections). No alcohol served here, which we couldn't care less. Read more

Nice, down to earth server and bar tender. Not a high end place. Simple blue collar place. Bring your own for now,; pending... their liquor deliveries. Excellent poke bowl. Ash the server and bartender could not be nicer. Read more

The definition of a hidden gem ???? It?s really easy to miss, since it?s located next to a small hotel pool, and the entrance is... through the hotel lobby, but boy am I happy that I found it! The food is great, and the fries might be the best fries I?ve hadin my life, definitely the best I?ve had in the last few years (I think they air fry them for the second fry, but can?t know forcertain). The food is not cheap, but it?s on par with the area, and the portions are large. As of late January 2022, they stillhaven?t received their liquor license, so there is a BYOB policy in place (no glass bottles), that can either make or break thewhole experience, depending on what you are looking for. Personally, I enjoyed it. And to top it off the service was also great!Highly recommend! Read more

After walking by this place on Kuhio for years...we finally stopped by this boutique hotel...Bamboo. After passing through the... retro lobby we entered the very-retro pool area to find "pool side" dining. Very friendly staff. The pool area looks amazing atnight. Hotel guests even using the pool and spa while others are dining. Some of the tables are made of amazing Koa wood. Pricesare very reasonable...ala cart, bowl or plate. Pick your protein then sides. The sampler appetizer was great. My steak was verytasty. However, after tasting my wife's shrimp...that's what I'll order next time. Awesome casual meal. I would highly recommendthe dining experience. And now the rest of the story...we went back a few nights later and I did order the shrimp...and I'm soglad I did, just amazing. We spent some time chatting with Amber, who is managing the place. I was asking if I could bring myown booze since they did not serve and and she said...absolutely. The only catch is they must pour it into plastic because it isaround the pool. Skip the bubblies. They have been working the last couple of years to get their liquor license...but no luckyet (Honolulu politics). Second visit was just as wonderful as the first. Read more
