An ikazaya is supposed to be a casual restaurant where there's a variety of inexpensive food and drink. I hate to focus my... review and rating on price - but it was astonishing how expensive it was for the small portions. I would NOT recommend thisplace for casual food and drinks with your friends unless money is no object. The food was high quality, well except for theyakitori, which tasted like it had been microwaved - not grilled. And I do understand prices have gone up - but our bill for 3people was $300 and with a 20% tip it was a $360. Not long ago this is what we spent for 4 people at a high end steak house. In Japan, this would cost maybe $100 (no tipping & tax included) for the same food/drink. I have a hard time believing thatJapanese food ingredients have skyrocketed so much to justify the prices and can't visualize working class Japanese visitors orlocals being able to pay such high prices. The servers were very nice. Read more

Expansive menu. Unfortunately the food wasn?t that great. We ordered 5 different items to share between two people and two... alcoholic beverages. Would not recommend the poke which was bland and had too many vegetables mixed in. I enjoyed the tuna chipappetizer though. My partner enjoyed the chicken yakitori and the butter buta (pork). The butterfish was okay. The drinks weregood. Read more

Wow! Sushi was far and away the best I've had in the area out of the three places I've been. But also some of the best sushi... I've ever had, period. Highly recommend. The chefs' cuts were excellently done. Everything came out picturesque. They could havebeen used as the ideal examples for aspiring sushi chefs. They also encourage you to order a piece at a time, if you're doingthe Nigri. Mix and match as many as you'd like and pay the same price regardless of the number ordered. No need to order 2pieces if you only want 1. I will definitely be coming back. Read more

Very extensive menu, it was fun to see so many different items. The dishes we chose were ordered to share. The Dragon roll was... delicious and the presentation was ?fun? with the fried shrimp tempura and Avo, Unagi, Ebi, Masago, and cucumber. They takereservations or if you rather stay home (hotel) they have a great ?Take Out menu?. You will not be disappointed. Read more
