The food at Hunan Hut is mainly deep fried and tastes ok but is definitely not healthy.

Great food, cozy, quiet atmosphere. When in town, I make a point of enjoying a meal at Hunan Hut!

For some reason, Hunan Hut reminds me of the scene in "A Christmas Story" where the Parker family end up having dinner at the... Chinese restaurant. It just has an awesome old-school American Chinese vibe that is lacking in Houston. The food is delicious,nothing is pre-made/pre-packaged. There is care in this food. If you understand the more Americanized style of Chinese food, youwill understand why this is so great. The ambiance could even be considered romantic, it's very quaint. Classic recipes thatremind me of my youth growing up in the midwest. Prices are right in line with all of the other Asian restaurants in town. We loved our evening at Hunan hut last night! There were 5 of us and everything was cooked to perfection! The vegetables were... fresh and cooked just right!!
