When I first sat down, I'm thinking, "Hire a decorator." Then I realized the brilliance of Boo-Ray's decor. It's all about the... food. I had Shrimp En Brochette, and I seriously wished my stomach was bigger. Jambalaya Pasta was served to my date, samedeal. Fabulous. I'll be bragging about this place. Give it a try and you will too. My 1st time ever at a Boo-Ray's of New Orleans. I was just attending a network meeting for realtors and the host also was... celebrating a birthday. Even though the food smelled delicious all around me, I am afraid I did not have time to eat anythingbecause I was so busy networking. I was also in charge of taking pictures so I was amazed at how cozy the atmosphere was forthis type of function. I have to give it to these guys credit, they did a great good of keeping up with the whole group ofabout 40+ people. Boo-Ray's of New Orleans is within walking distance of the H-E-B supermarket, and Shottenkirk Toyota ofWeatherford. My first visit was very pleasant, and yes I will be back as a regular customer. Never been to this establishment before. I'm glad I stopped by. Got gator tail and fries as an appetizer. The main dish was... blackened swordfish. This was absolutely delicious! Washed it all down with a couple of Rahr Dadgum IPA's. One of myfavorites! The waiter was super friendly. I was going to get the red fish, but he recommended the swordfish if I liked redfish. I'm glad I did it. It's a little pricey, but I don't mind paying a little more when the food is actually good. Totallyworth it. The restaurant was nice and clean. Even though it was my first time going to this place, I'm pretty sure you canorder anything off the menu and it will be good. I'll be back soon! Read more

Realistically this place doesn?t deserve more than about two stars. I?m giving it 3 because of the fried catfish and Grilled... chicken(expectedly someone from Texas shouldn?t mess that up too bad). This place however is not only inauthentic in regards totheir Cajun food, it?s just plain bad. Let?s start with the fried gator. The pieces were so small and overcooked that they mayas well have served us just bits of fried breading. That added to the simple fact that the fries were the primary item on theplate with maybe 8 nickle sized bites of the gator actually ordered thrown in the mix. The fries were good however. 2/10 Thechicken and andouille sausage gumbo I don?t believe ever had any resemblance of a holy trinity cooked into the roux which alonetasted as if it was burnt (if they weren?t using a cheap pre-made roux to begin with). The sausage and chicken was so overcooked it simply disintegrated when eaten and turned into a grainy goop rather than the lightly rubbery resistance one expectswhen eating gumbo. 2/10 The Crawfish Etoufée was a whole different story. Altogether. Flavor was terrible and tasted nothingof the crawfish flavor expected from an Etoufée or one that I?m used to growing up in south Louisiana. The dish had WAY toomuch salt and the size of the crawfish was simply laughable. I could have made better Etoufée using the frozen crawfish tailsfound in your local Walmart frozen seafood section. 1/10 Took about 30 minutes to seat our party of 6 + 2 children and a baby. They upcharge for credit card -vs- cash payment by about $5. The ?atmosphere? of New Orleans is completely lost on thisrestaurant apart from the cheap swampy murals covering the walls and ? laissez le bon temps rouler? lights outside. I?m surethe locals love their fake little ?cajun? restaurant to justify the 4.5 star rating online. But anyone who?s ever had or madeauthentic cajun food knows that this place bears no resemblance to the real deal and certainly not even close e Read more

Been awhile since I visited here and I wasn?t disappointed this time either. I had the jalapeño Catfish with green beans and... rice. The catfish was great tasting no fish taste at all. The batter is crunchy and seasoned well. The green beans are anacquired taste but spicy and I love them. As always the garlic toast is a hit. Don?t forget the fondue in the appetizer withextra bread?.delicious! Read more
