John's Philly Grille never disappoints. The bread is ALWAYS fresh and soft with a slight crunch to the crust. The meat is tender... and flavorful. My GF and I always get the #1 with just the meat and cheese. My recommendation is that you order ahead of timeand give yourself plenty of time to pick up your food. Not that it takes them a long to prepare orders. No, the sandwiches areso fresh and hot that the rising steam from the sandwich resembles an impending volcano eruption. These sandwiches are extremelyhot in temperature. We also get Philly Fries and onion rings. They're just as fresh and just as awesome as the sandwiches! Nice crispness and seasoning on the fries and the onion rings have the perfect amount of batter. I hate onion rings that are doughylike those you get from a fast food place. You can tell those are frozen. These are not. I highly give this establishment a twothumbs up. Read more
I'm a California native, so my only exposure to Cheesesteaks is though Philly's Best (which I love). I had the #6 John's... Special and a side of fries and can confidently say this place is a step above. Read more
I really wanted this place to be good but they put to many onions in the cheesesteak, it was like an onion sandwich with meat.... Bread was good but got really soggy, not sure why, maybe all the onions. Best thing about this place is portion size, fullsize cheesesteak is huge. Read more
I lived in Philadelphia for 7 years, none of this is a legit cheesesteak. The rolls are old. The cheese is wrong. They demand to... put diced hot peppers into everything. It's pretty overpriced. In Philly I can get a sandwich four times bigger for a fewdollars more. They screwed up a pizza steak...not sure how you get that so wrong. Oh and to add insult to injury, they make youa wickedly over greasy sandwich and refuse to provide you with a bathroom to even wash your hands. Go to an Arby's, you'll havea more edible better value meal and a bathroom. The only good part, the staff was rude and surly like real north Philly people. Read more
