I was in the mood for something different so why not real German food. Had a German beer on happy hour, schnitzel, red cabbage,... Spätzle and a bread basket. Beer was delicious. Nice variety of breads. Schnitzel was well pounded thin and crisp. Red cabbagewas vinegary to me but good. It?s a cute place made up Of small rooms perfect for a date. Located in a small office area. I wasthere early otherwise you would need a reservation. Sylvia was a great wait staff! Check it out! Read more

Authentic German cuisine. Service was good considering they were severely understaffed. The food is straight from Germany, or at... least they prepare it so well that you think it is. Good beer and wine selection and the desserts look amazing (didn't try it). Read more

This was our first trip to Hildegard's. It was not our first attempt to go there. On a couple of previous occasions, there were... no parking spaces in the lot at lunch. The lot is small and cramped and shared with several other businesses. This means it canbe crowded and often is. Entering the restaurant is a little confusing. The entrance is near the end of a walkway and there isone door only. Just outside is a small outside dining area and a small display of beer and terra cotta planters with smallplants. This is not a chain restaurant and, having read a number of favorable reviews, we were anxious to try it. Havingserved in the Army and had a tour of duty in Frankfurt, Germany, I became a fan of German food. There were several small, inexpensive restaurants outside of the Kaserne where I lived. After a few visits to several local places, I started to learnwhat I particularly liked and likely to be on the menu. Hildegard's German Cuisine is authentic?at least based on myexperience. On this occasion we shared a dish of Classic Chicken or Chicken Schnitzel. The chicken was tender. The breading wasa light brown so it was not overdone. The taste was excellent. It was accompanied by German potatoes. Again, they were cookedto perfection. They were lightly browned and not overdone. They were not salty as is sometimes the case with thesepotatoes. The servings are quite large. I saw a number of patrons leaving the restaurant with a carry-out bag. We would havehad a carry-out bag but concluded one entree was enough for two people who (try to) avoid overeating. It was plenty offood. The bread had good flavor but some of it was stale. There is nothing better than the dark bread in a German restaurantwhen it is very fresh. This would have been delightful but must have been sitting too long to remain at its peak. Having takena look at the pastry in the front of the restaurant near the hostess stand, we asked about dessert. There was one piece of BlackForest Read more

The hostess was super sweet, wait staff very responsive and helpful. The place was quaint, vibe was chill. Wait time to be... seated was 35-40 minutes. Liver and onions were ok but I felt overcooked. Otherwise a pleasant dining experience... Read more

The food was good, and the staff were friendly, but the dessert menu has no prices on it, and it turns out it is $6.40 for a... single slice of cake. I'd still recommend this place--just don't get dessert. Read more
