The food was delicious and the atmosphere was very pleasing. They have a good mix of meals prepared in-house and lots of good... appetizers to get the meal started. They also offer some unique cocktails that go very well with all of the meals. The servicewas great and we left satisfied with the overall experience. Read more

I was blown away by some of the dishes I had at Primrose. One thing I really like about primrose is it's a low key restaurant in... a neighborhood. It's not in a busy area, so sitting outside on the patio was very enjoyable in the quiet neighborhood ofBrookland. I would definitely recommend the gazpacho and the best salad. The tuna was alright, I'd pass on the chicken wings. The service was good and if it's a nice day it's really nice to sit outside. Read more

Several weeks later, I still am forming my opinion about Primrose. I enjoyed it, but I found the food to be average, hence the... tentative three stars. The space is cute, and it's a low-key neighborhood restaurant in Brookland. The brunch menu needs to beexpanded a bit, as the options simply didn't speak to me. I ended up getting a burger, which was solid...but I've had better inDC. I also felt driven to the burger given that I wasn't feeling the other options. I might give this place another shotbecause there was a lot to like about it. To be continued... Read more

Must say that we were very disappointed in our brunch experience today. Took my wife for her birthday brunch and the food and... service were not up to the high marks our friends had shared when they recommended we go here. We ordered the Salmon Benny andthe Pork Hash plus a Bloody Mary and a Mimosa. As you see from the pics, the chef can't cook a poached egg, let alone two ofthem. I would have sent the food back but no one ever came to ask how our food was. On top of this, we never got the biscuitswith honey butter we ordered and had to ask to remove it from the bill. They apologized for the biscuits, but considering therewas a $15 service fee already tacked onto the check, the meal was definitely not worth the $99 it cost us. There are so manygood brunch spots in DC, unfortunately Primrose isn't one of them. Read more

Lovely restaurant. Dined here with a friend. It’s a beautiful space. We loved the open air, French bistro atmosphere. The... decorations are cute and have a classy Versailles theme. Food was yummy! It’s a bit of a French fusion. We ordered the champburger, zingy wings, and the cauliflower. All were delicious. The cauliflower was our favorite. A very fun and creative pairingof roasted cauliflower with a hoisin/ginger based sauce and pickles, jalapeños, and a soft tart cheese. Menu is creativeenough that I would love to come again and try out a completely new flavor. Read more
