My daughter and I just recently moved to the area from Philly. West African restaurants are littered all over the city back... home. The restaurants back at home give you healthy servings and generally, the food is made to order. Since being here I’vebeen craving African food. It was a staple in my diet back home. After a quick Google search I decided to give this place a try.The first thing I noticed, which I didn’t like, was the food was already cooked and set up buffet style. That, however, didn’t deter me from still proceeding with trying the food. My daughter and I decided to eat our food in the restaurant. Iordered okra stew over white rice for myself and jollof rice, goat and plantain for my daughter. The cashier told us we couldsit in and eat our food first and pay after. So we did just that. I didn’t make it through my dish. They food was ok, howeverthe meat in my stew was over cooked and tough and the rice wasn’t cooked well. My daughter didn’t like the jollof rice(which I didn’t either and we both LOVE jollof rice) but she did eat her meat and plantain. My daughter received a plateoverflowing with rice, literally three pieces of goat meat and about five plantain. We finished our food and headed back to thefront to pay. Our total was $45! F-o-u-r-t-y-f-i-v-e d-o-l-l-a-r-s!!! I was flabbergasted! I wish I had taken photos of ourplates to show what little we received for $45! I honestly expected no more than $30. Back home we could have gotten enough fortwo meals each for what we paid. I will never support this establishment again. The prices are outrageous, the food quality issubpar and the portion sizes are menial. Never again. Read more

The fried fish was stale and hard. The Eguisi had an after taste and did not seem fresh as well. The goat meat was too hard to... chew. I only enjoyed their jollof rice. Read more

i have ordered asun/goat meat before (2 weeks ago) after a previous bad experience at zion’s and to my surprise, it was really... good that i had to order again the next day. With that changed perception of Zion’s i decided to order asun again today and itwas really bad. the meat smelled and tasted stale and i had to put in a report on door dash and got my item reordered andredelivered, only for it to be the exact same mess. I am really upset because my whole dinner is ruined because of thisexperience. I don’t understand why stale food would be sold for customers consumption just because it was microwaved. this isappalling Read more

I eat here 2-3 times a month and never had a problem until August 6, 2022. I ordered 2 egusi soups with chicken and 2 fufu to... go, the price was $38.50. I reached home in about 10 minuets and i sat down with my daughter to eat. The chicken legs werefried so hard that I couldn’t even bite it, the egusi soup bowl was a quarter way filled barely enough for 5 scoops and it allwas cold. I was so disappointed, ALL OF IT WENT IN THE TRASH. I will never return because this is a poor representation ofAfrican food. They need to be closed for business at this point, the cook is some garbage. I couldn’t had McDonald’s for thefraction if the price and it would’ve been hot. Read more
