We actually thought this Piccadilly was no longer in business. Had an appointment in the area. Driving by we saw it was open!... Had a good late lunch meal. Even better, it came with kindness, smiles and helpfulness from the staff. They made our stoprelaxing and enjoyable. Hope this place stays in business For Many More years. Read more
Truly the highlight of our visit through this area. Ray and John and all the ladies were so welcoming and friendly. Very good... service and delicious food! I came in with my wheelchair bound son and everyone was very helpful ( also his small service dogRosie). We had the fried chicken and the turnips and the mashed potatoes in the pecan pie and chocolate pie and a bunch of otherstuff I end up having to take most of it back to the hotel. I have been a big fan of cafeteria restaurants since I was 10, and with my recent visit to Jacksonville it was on my bucket... list. I went for lunch and was expecting a good crowd that would normally be lined up, but that wasn't the case. The parking lotwas a quarter full and there was no line. But it was open and my selection of the freshly cooked Southern Fried Catfish was thebest I've had in years. It came with 2 sides for $11.99, very good price. I wish them well as the waitress I spoke to had 24years vested in Piccadilly, a company that dotted the Florida landscape with a cafeteria and is now down to two. Read more
Wow! Best kept secret in Jacksonville Florida. I will begin with the amazing food and the many selections there are at this... cafeteria-styled restaurant. The staff is friendly, the menu selection is to die for, and the price is relatively cheap wheneverything else is going up. Try the roast beef and one of your sites must be the rice cooked with cheese on top. I had enoughfood to last me the entire day for $13.00 tax included. This place really needs a visit from the health inspector and the owners at the same time and by surprise. I saw so many issues... that I don't have the time to list them all. I will say this, I suspect grease needs to be changed and fryers cleaned as well asa complete sanitization of the kitchen. And perhaps if a water filtration system exists the filters need to be changed. As faras the dining area...if a makeover is not possible right now at least replace the carpets. It is not enough to wear gloves whenhandling food, the gloves must be changed when returning to the kitchen from outside and when handling cash and serving food.
