This place is amazing! Definitely a hidden gem. The decor has a modern yet traditional feel. The staff are attentive, pleasant... and proactive. The food is ?TO DIE FOR!? Take out is terrible. This is my first time ordering from The Door. Customer service needs more hands on deck. I ordered my food... over the phone, I was rushed off of the phone and told my food would be done in 15 min. When I arrived I hear the cashiercalling out numbers. I approached the cashier confused and told her I wasn't given a number, she asked me for the total, I saidI wasn't given a total, just that my order would be ready in 15 min. This woman literally yelled at me in front of othercustomers " I don't understand, how could you not get a total for your order?!" So Im like "Ma'am, I don't know they just toldme to be here in 15 min." She was extremely frustrated and rude, but she did find my order number and helped me out I guess. Ipaid $9.75 for 5 small pieces of curry chicken. All of the gravy was in the bag when I got home. The food was not hot, it wasgood but not nearly enough food for what I paid. There was so much roti left when I was done eating because all of the gravy waslost. The black cake I ordered was dry and tasteless, $25 in total for a disappointing experience. I suggest this restaurant getbetter take out containers and more people working during their rush hrs. Its clear that the ladies in there are confused andoverworked. The is the most service I?ve ever received at a Jamaican establishment. It?s not embellished, it?s just good. And the food is... even better. We started with the red pea soup and the chicken soup, both were astounding! I knew we were in for a treat whenboth soups were delicious. I had the curry shrimp with rice and peas and my partner had the curry chicken with groundprovisions. We were full after 3 bites. It was all so savory and the right amount of spice. We will return!
