Lovely venue but beware- they automatically add 20% tip. I don’t see this printed anywhere and was not informed. Particularly... irritating as I left a tip in cash and then on top of that was charged, without my consent, 20% tip. Young lady who saw me leavethe cash tip didn’t think to tell me the policy. Beyond disappointed with Sherwood House. I’m giving two stars because my first ever experience a year ago was nice however,... this most recent visit was terrible!! Went the weekend of October 22nd which was part of the celebration of my partners 40thbirthday. Reservations were made in advance and we were excited once we arrived as the property is beautiful. 1st) The managerneeds better training and a refresher on basic customer service. I didn’t get her name but she was very rude, not forth comingand dressed like she started work after a heavy night out. She seemed upset with the fact that when we first arrived and shequickly asked if we had a reservation that my response was, yes. No hi, no welcome, just a “do you have a reservation” 2) Webooked a la carte as we wanted to go through the journey and be able to chat about the wines ourselves. However we were sat nearthe bathroom with bar top stools with a view of the wall directly in front of us. We were just handed menus and nobody camearound to say anything as other patrons were coming in and a line formed next to us for the bathroom. There were plenty of opentables and other vacant spaces we could have been sat. Like really.. Next to the bathroom???? She seemed very nice and friendlyto some of the other couples that were standing by the bar. 3) finally spoke up regarding the seating and basically had touncomfortably argue for a better table. We were moved next to the fireplace. Albeit nicer seating but it was exceptionally sunnyand warm outside and unnecessary to be next to a hot fire. We ordered charcuterie, the farm veggies (which were literally justcarrots) and the 5 tasting wines. Nobody ever came around to check on us and in the end I had to trace someone down to pay thecheck. It's a great place to have an intimate celebration or enjoy it with a group of friends. The elegant decor and charming staff... provide a welcoming ambiance. The wine is great and their food menu is tasty. We had delicious empanadas and would berecommend them during or after a tasting. Read more

Wonderful experience at Sherwood House on Sunday. The people working there are so friendly and helpful, even suggesting we split... a tasting when we couldn’t decide what to have. Great experience! Awesome vibes here. The design inside is so cool and perfectly captures what you would expect from a North... Fork Vineyard. The wine was fantastic, try the white merlot, it’s great! It’s also worth noting that we came here with our14 month old baby who was so happily welcomed. She is very well behaved and smiles at everyone. Another vineyard, (Ev&Em),turned us away simply for having a baby. She wasn’t crying, she was happy as can be. But the manager at Ev&Em said she was notwelcome and told us we would have to sit outside in the cold if we wanted to stay with her. We couldn’t have been happier tohave left Ev&Em and ended up at Sherwood House… where we ended up having an amazing and enjoyable experience! Totallyrecommend! Read more
