This place is spacious and has great views if NYC. I was really bummed that the espresso machine was not ready when we arrived... for brunch. We were told that it was too hot and it was taking longer than expected to get started. Hopefully they get thatfigured out for future brunches! A Battello is a small boat often tied to larger boats and used to bring people back and forth from the shore. I’m not sure why... this name was chosen and a lot of times I’ve passed their statue with the name under it and wondered what it was. I found outthat it’s a real jewel on the Hudson in Jersey city. The first thing you’ll notice is that while the building itself lookssmall, the establishment is incredibly spacious, and well thought out. Very very clean. The staff is very courteous andprofessional. While sitting at the bar having a coffee I listen to the bar keep and a host discuss the wine, making sure it waschilled properly etc. very thoughtful. I liked that the customer doesn’t know that they’re working behind the scenes to makethe moment nice. The view outside of Manhattan is incredible also and worth the visit if just to look at the skyline whilehaving a Manhattan from the bar. It also looks like the beginning of some construction on a adjacent bit of land of which I’mhopeful it won’t obstruct the view. This is how a restaurant should be and I’ll write more when I have time to eat there. Read more
