Just realized i never reviewed this institution. It?s an amazing place for everything on the menu - it?s different and very... unique. No point in comparing it to other venues like Mamouns etc. This is a unique place in the history of Jersey City. Youwill love the food, if you don?t its okay - not everyone has to like everything in the world. This is an authentic place withhard core flavors - try lamb shawarmas, falafels and grilled kebabs. Today was a cold day and all I wanted was a good homemade meal. This hit the spot. The service was excellent. The young man at... the restaurant was patient with us as we made our selections. The restaurant was small as all are up here in NY/J but it wasCLEAN! It was homey, it was cozy, it was welcoming. The mint lemonade is something of a novelty and they make it in house. Thehummus is unlike anything you?ll ever buy at a grocery store?and the spicy pita chips are perfection. Contrary to the restaurant name, they do serve more than just falafel. My Pharoahs platter definitely was a feast for the eyes... as well as stomach. There was a generous portion of grilled chicken on a bed of rice, two pita breads with a side of hummus andsalad. The chicken was flavorful but was a tad on the dry side. The amount of char on the chicken could seem like a cancerwaiting to happen but it didn't taste at all burnt. Overall, they have a lot of selections and service was ok. Stopped here with a friend to grab a quick bite to eat. We got the chicken shawarma pita and it was pretty good! Chicken was... tender and ingredients were fresh.
