I worked at Oakwood Bistro for a day before that night i had a medical emergency and called the owner to call off the next day. ... he said he would call me back and literally never did even though i tried calling several times apparently hes never at his ownrestaurant. anyways, i never got paid for the day i did work. its been a few months. ive called and even went in for them totell me they mailed it. mind you i haven't received any check in the mail. i called left my number to call back and no reply.p.s. their for isnt authentic mostly GFS and only old people eat there its bland boring and has ugly decor. i'm glad i dont workthere well at least i think i dont STILL havent heard from the owner. they wont give me his number. I was excited to try Oakwood Bistro, but left pretty disappointed. I ordered their French Onion soup which lacked in flavor. The... only ?flavor? I tasted was plastic. I also ordered a Caesar salad and the dressing tasted like straight Mayonnaise. My friendordered the cajun crab and corn dip which was really the only reason I didn?t leave the restaurant still hungry and even thatwas only decent. The only good part of my meal was my Raspberry Iced Tea. However, I am leaving 2 stars because my server wasnice and took my soup off of my tab because I only had one bite and expressed my disappointment. I don?t see myself coming backin the future. I feel so robbed. 60.00 for a very small amount of food and the bag felt so light carrying out. I could get double the amount of... food in other restaurants like Zooroona for example. I am so disappointed I ordered here today. The lettuce for the large saladis literally a handful of lettuce. The risotto looked so good in the pics posted by others but it looked underwhelming when Igot this order. This was a case of a restaurant that could have been great but failed to execute. The first dish of the night was the charred... onion dip, a dish whose description had the making of an intelligent and thoughtful combination of flavors. I mean really, whocan screw up a yogurt based onion dip? When it came out plated in a plastic cup surrounded by greasy potato chips, it was a bitunderwhelming. Not to say plastic cups are taboo, but there should have been some bowl small enough to hold that same amount ofdip. The dip itself was good, but nothing great. It had the potential to be good, all the flavors that needed to be there werepresent, but this incredibly salty/tangy taste took the spotlight away from the others. I would rate this a 3.5/5. The entreefor myself was the salmon meatball linguine which was surprisingly tasty. The linguine was al dente and the cream sauce had aslight sweetness and complexity which elevated the dish. The meatballs were good but I would have wished more texture beyond thedry, crumbly variety. They also had very little seasoning, all I could taste was salmon and the faint taste of a few choppedveggies. I would give this a 4.5/5. My mother had a squash risotto which was probably the worst dish of the night. Butternutsquash anything should be seasoned one of two ways, savory with herbs like rosemary and thyme, or sweet, with spices likecinnamon and nutmeg. The Oakwood Bistro chose a third option which was to not season the dish whatsoever. This lack of seasoningcompletely capsized the dish, making it practically inedible. It became a squash flavored goop with no discernible positivequalities. I would give this a 1/5 and only because I like the taste of squash. My dad got the Oakwood Wedge which doesn?t havemuch to speak of, similar to the lack of anything on the plate.
