I read an article about this place in the KC Star and decided to give it a try and support a local small business. When we... arrived, there was a sign on the door instructing us to ring the bell or call to be let in. It was a bit strange, but we werelet on immediately and the lady greated us warmly. I ordered the beef cheesesteak with a side of bombers(jalapeno poppers) andmy husband ordered a cheeseburger and fries. Our order was made fresh and everything came out hot and delicious. The bomberswere so good I would come back just for these. The cheesesteak was on a lovely fresh bun and had plenty of nicely seasoned beefwith onions, peppers, and a couple of different types of cheese. My husband really enjoyed the burger and fries. Stopped in to give this place a try. Ordered the brisket sandwich and fries. Had to pay through a bank style window and I've... never been in a restaurant where I couldn't smell food upon walking in. That should have been my clue to leave, but it was lateand me and my sis were hungry. Sandwich was on white bread and it was shredded dry meat. Horrible! Not to mention the menudoes not have anything to do with soulfood. Won't be returning. Read more
