Great place to hang out and caught a bit of the late Sunday game. Very cool atmosphere and great menu. Ate too much, drank... just enough, and will be back next time we are here. We?ve always loved Char Bar but haven?t been for a few years. Came through KC today and wanted to have lunch somewhere that... would accommodate us with our dog since we are traveling. Our server, Joe B, did a fabulous job dealing with our chaos as wetried to feed and manage a baby, toddler and pup. We were impressed and thankful at how quickly the food came out. Their brownbag lunch special was a pretty good deal. We each had a burnt end sandwich?delicious. We like their BBQ sauce, but it is verymuch on the sweet side. The spicy sauce wasn?t very spicy. Regular and sweet potato fries were great. The broccoli/bacon side,not so much. Beans were pretty good. Our daughter?s Turkey sandwich from the kids meal looked the same as an adult size, so wehelped her eat it, and it was also delicious. The highlight of this place is the outdoor patio scene for sure. The food was very good. We sat at a high top table near the bar. Our server walked past our table at least a dozen times, each... time walking past my empty glass. When we asked for the check, he did offer a refill, lol. I can recommend the Triple Crown. Very good sandwich. Read more
A favorite of mine to stop at whenever I?m in KC. The food is great, but the venue itself really elevates the dining... experience. There?s both indoor and outdoor seating. Indoors you?ll find an inviting, warm, and rustic atmosphere. Outsideyou?ll find a variety of seating arrangements, lawn games, and probably a dog or two hanging out with their owners. Eatingoutside definitely has this friendly, block party type vibe I?ve never seen elsewhere. Solid menu and selection of drinks tochoose from and the BBQ itself has never disappointed. Very yummy BBQ! I can't believe this was my first time here! I got the 2 meat plate with baked beans & potato salad. Hubs got... the same but fries & baked beans as the sides. My meats were brisket & Turkey. The Turkey was good but the brisket was better!!I really liked the sides and the sauce was yummy. They have sweet & spicy bbq sauce on the table. My daughter had thesausage/burnt end grits. She thought they were okay but says too much parmesan. I didn't taste it so I can't really rate it.
