First time here. Small restaurant, it was very crowded for 10:30 in the morning. Business had one young lady Paige, who was... waiting tables, taking orders, busing tables, making coffee and getting drink orders AND was cashier. She was a real gogetter!!!! Food was good. My wife and I stopped here and had breakfast about a week ago and we absolutely loved it!! We shared a chicken fried steak... breakfast and a full order of biscuits and gravy. It was absolutely delicious, we ate it before I could take pictures lol.Absolutely fantastic!!! Read more

It's hard to find restaurants like this anymore. Kempner is a very small town, so I'm hoping folks from the more populous areas... nearby will read this and frequent this eatery. If anyone deserves to have good business, it's the Log Cabin. I've been thereabout a dozen times and my experience has been the same each time. They don't seem to have bad days, or inconsistent meals, likemany others do these days. Staff is excellent as reviewers have mentioned, but the customers are also very friendly. I literallystrike up conversations whenever I'm there and it's like Old Home Week every time. Just moved back to this area and I eat solothese days, so it's really nice to find a place where I'm welcomed like family. I'm a vet and this is a veteran owned andfrequented business. Top notch comfort food in a very comforting environment. Breakfast is tricky - it's a lot of food and youwill likely eat every last bite, so be prepared to be stuffed! Lunch is every bit as good as breakfast. My Grandfather used torun a Mom & Pop bkft/lunch Diner when I was a kid. Everyone loved it.
