Smitty's never disappoints. The seafood is always fresh, the atmosphere is like being at the beach, and the servers are always... hoppin'. Good selection of bottled and tap beers. We waited 45 minutes on a Friday evening, which isn't bad around here. We had"The Barge," which is plenty of food for 2 seafood lovers. The oysters were perfect, lots of shrimp, scallops and crab legs. Forme, this is as close to the Outer Banks you can get this side of Raleigh. Read more
This is one of our favorite restaurants! The seafood is amazingly fresh and tasty! A real marvel considering we're so far... in-land. Even better, the restaurant does not smell like seafood which is a clear indication of how clean and sanitary it is. The service is excellent and all of the servers we've ever had have been friendly and hard working. The bar service andbartenders are also wonderful! My only complaint is (and it's minor) is the lack of cleanliness in the women's restroom. It's indesperate need of a deep clean or even just a pressure washer! I cringe every time I have to go in there. And I fear that I'mnot the only patron that feels that way. Otherwise I absolutely love this place and it's my go-to Friday spot! Read more
Six of us went out to celebrate a friend's birthday. Our server was very kind and afforded our table just the right amount of... attention. She impressively took all six orders, including modifications, and accurately submitted them by memory. Everyonerecd their correct order as requested and in a timely manner. The food was excellent and the bar drinks were perfect.Unfortunately, a major storm came up and the power went out. As we were seated outside, we were able to complete our mealsbefore they had to shut down and requested all patrons to vacate. The staff was kind while efficiently vacating the premises. Great food and great service. I liked the atmosphere of this place albeit a little noisy. I think most of that was from the 4... women at the table next to us having a great time enjoying life! Waitress was phenomenal! Mostly bar seating but not necessarilya bar feeling there. A few tables out side also. Read more
