So I've been to Sal's in the past and enjoyed the food. Today I order and I realize it is a holiday weekend but they take the... order and I pay over the phone because it is such a large order. They tell me it would be an hour and 15 minutes. Get here atthe hour mark so that I'm not getting cold pizzas. And what do I get told, "i told you it would be an hour and a half". No youdidn't and now you are being very rude about it. On top of that they tell me it's going to be another 45 minutes. You close at9. So now it will be after closing time..... Good thing I already paid the $180 because I sure as heck would have gotten Sliceor one of the others to do the same order in half the time. Read more

This is my first time to the Outer Banks. Came in on Saturday 7/9, saw the good reviews that Sal's received and they were... within walking distance. This is my opinion but I felt the dough was dry and just an average pizza definitely not living up tothe reviews. I also got an order of barbeque wings that were kind of dry as well. They certainly needed more sauce; I'm usedto my wings swimming in sauce. Granted, I'm from Pittsburgh, PA and maybe that's just how we do things up there. I don't wantto criticize too much since they may have had an off day and I only tried them once but being that Jasper also had a fewnegative comments recently, you wonder if there is not something more going on. First of all, I'm as local as it gets. There are several other places to get better pizza on the Outer Banks. 90 min wait for... our order to begin with. So reading through the reviews it seems like many are praising the house made dough and the awesomepizza crust. That was one of the reasons we chose to try Sal,s. My pizza didn't have house made awesome crust. It was frozen, pre made, thin(right out to the edge), cardboard like cheap crust. There was no "bread like" quality to the crust. Quitefrankly, the pie was disappointing. We also ordered Buffalo wings which were fantastic. They were perfectly prepared and servedwith blue cheese and Celery. Additionally, we ordered an Italian sub and a side order of meatballs(cheesed and sauced). TheItalian sub was well prepared and came with tater tots. The meatballs were excellent and came with a nice portion of slicedItalian sub roll. I wouldn't recommend the pizza from Sal's New York Pizza simply because the crust was not homemade.....but theother food items were good. Read more
