Menu for Jourdan River Steamer in Kiln, MS

It was my first time back since they rebuilt after Hurricane Katrina. Our party was greeted by friendly staff. The atmosphere is... very nice and over looks the Jordan River, which allows for boat access as well. The waitress was very attentive to our group,very pleasant and explained the menu for those who had questions. She gave us the specials, one of which was the Scamp Grouper Iultimately ordered, which was excellent. The others in our group has a range of seafood including shrimp dishes, lobster, andsteak. All the courses were excellent. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting to have excellent seafood. Read more

If I had one meal left it would be at this place. If you are a seafood lover you have got to come here. The food is incredibly... fresh and steamed perfectly. There is not one bad thing on the menu. Sometimes there is a little weight because the people thatknow about this place are willing to wait to eat here when it's busy. It has been remodeled since the previous building wasflooded. You have to try the huge Royal Reds and crab legs! Just be prepared to pay a little more than usual but we come here asa special treat and it is worth the extra expense. Read more

Best food ever!! They have great seafood, steak and pasta dishes here. Oysters are awesome. Just an all around great choice of... food. Absolutely the best service we've ever had. Atmosphere is wonderful too. Oh and a really good drink (alcohol) selectiontoo. A must try restaurant if in the area. We will definitely be returning!! Read more

This was our 1st visit and oh what a visit it was. We had the best meal!!! We celebrated my girlfriends birthday there and she... and I shared the ss minnow plate. Oh my was it Great!!! My husband and other friend had steaks, cooked exactly the way theyordered it and they both ordered it differently but, they both got exactly what they ordered. At the end of our sweet meal, theowner come to our table and he is funny and wonderful and really wants you to have the best meal. We hate to brag about thesteamer restaurant because it's already so crowded but well worth the wait. We arrived at 7pm Saturday night and expected towait on a table but lucked out and walked in and sat down to a fabulous meal! This place is a must!!!! You will never have abetter grilled oysters.... Excellent, almost as good as in the old days. Steak was awesome, the sea food was delicious and the service from the greating... to the send off we treatment of family, and pure courtesy. The children's dishes were prepared well and with priority, kidswere catered to, everyone was treated well. Prices still mid range to high, however worth every penny, leaving with a box foreach of us. Delicious. Steaks cooked to perfection, and for picky steak eaters well worth the wait for getting to come. Will besaving to plan our next outing to eat there again. Will be more frequent from now on.
