We were traveling through the area and they were kind enough to fit us in at the last minute. Food and service were both great!... The only negative was the temperature. It wasn't oppressively hot, but warm. Seeing how well maintained this historic buildingis, offset the lack of air conditioning. We probably should have opted for an outdoor table. Hoffman House could be a 5 star place simply because of the historical significance of the building, but the food was really... good as well! The French onion soup was good. I got the crispy roast duck, which was delicious. My only dings was that onlyparts of the skin were crispy, and it would be nice to have a vegetable side in addition to the rice/potato side too. My wifegot the scallops marsala and that was also delicious, with a good portion of scallops and a tasty marsala sauce! We got theapple cobbler for desert and that too was really good! The staff was friendly and welcoming. Service was a little slowespecially given that there wasn't a crowd when we got there for dinner, but we were in no rush. All in all a greatmeal.
