The Rose & Crown Restaurant family pub and restaurant

The food is usually very good here. My wife had the liver and onions and really enjoyed it. But I was very disappointed with my Triple Decker Club. I think they use Texas-style bread and it's way too thick for a triple decker club. Just way too much bread and way too little chicken. You'll probably enjoy most everything else, but avoid the club.

A traditional pub with good food, generous portions (only ate 1/2 my order) and fair prices. First time eating here as our usual place was without a cook. Will be back

Today was our 2nd time to eat here. Our waitress was polite, knowledgeable and gave us great service. I wish I paid attention to what her name was so we could give her a shout out. She also fills your coffee cup to the top and I did tell her, that is rarer then you would think. The food was excellent! Four different meals all perfectly done. Portions are generous, restaurant clean and inviting. We had three different desserts and they all were excellent. We live over 1 hour away but when we have business in Kingston this will be our Go to Restaurant.. Thank you for the awesone expérience.

Great English Diner in Kingston with an amazing variety of food. The service was spot on and great on the pocket as well. Totally recommend you to head to this pub for a beer, fish and chips or some finger licking food!

Great fish and chips! Fast service

I ordered the halibut and chips it was either not even a halibut or severely undercooked as anybody knows that has ever had halibut the meat is always white as snow this was more of the color of salmon so I?m not sure what it was or severely under cooked, the french fries could?ve used another minute or so soggy far from crispy, my wife had crabcakes just OK I don?t know if they make them in the house or buy them already made nothing to write home about, we ordered gravy on the side tasted more like canned gravy then homemade and you don?t gets coleslaw with the order, maybe you pay separately for that, definitely will not go back if that was the best they could do. I was very disappointed from the reviews I read, I thought I was going to get an awesome meal.?

I feel this is the most authentic English pub in Kingston. The ambience and decor is just lovely and the food is amazing! My favourites are the fisherman?s pie which is like a shepherds pie but with fish and it is so delicious, and of course, the fish and chips. There is Sunday special where you can get any kind of fish with chips for 2 for $19.99 which is really fab. My partner and I like to get the halibut, it?s really great. This is such a cosy place with great food and great service, I definitely highly recommend!

We've lived in the area for several decades and I can't recall a previous visit to the Rose & Crown Restaurant. However, accompanied with our two grandsons and looking for something different, we ended up having a pleasant lunch at the Rose & Crown. The grandsons chose from the kid's menu and ate chicken strips accompanied by chips for one and onion rings for the other. Grandma had liver and bacon with chips and I had a veggie curry with chips. The grandsons then enjoyed a dish of chocolate ice cream, grandma a coffee and me a pint of Hobgoblin. Our dishes were tasty despite a common colour of light brown. A few colourful veggies would improve the presentation. However, there was no complaint over the $50 total and a $10 tip for good service. For a small pub, I was impressed with the number of beers on tap. There must have been around a dozen taps although only one craft beer. I look forward to returning and checking out the supper menu.
