Passed through the LaCrosse area on the way to camp in Copper Falls and had an opportunity to try out the local steakhouse. I... would highly recommend, has a bit of a supper club flair and outstanding service and food. Ample parking available in thesurrounding area. We started our evening at the bar area, as the restaurant was quite full, and does not take reservations. Wesampled the artichoke dip, which was phenomenal and enjoyed a glass of wine. We were seated about an hour later and promptlyserved a warm loaf of bread and butter. We all opted to order filet mignon, and the vegetable of the evening, steamed squash. Wealso chose to have the fall salad and did not try out the salad bar, although it did look incredible. Steak was cooked toperfection, and the squash came with a brown sugar sauce, which was lovely. We closed out our evening by sampling, threedesserts?Grasshopper pie, chocolate cream and carrot cake. Service was great. Got sat within 5 minutes of entering the restaurant. Drinks were pretty good ya know? But the food was quite... disappointing. After my wife and I received our salads, no more than 7 minutes later our appetizer and entrees also showed up.The server told us ?apparently the cook wants to leave early so he made all of your food at the same time?. It was 8:30 on aSaturday night. That?s fine I can deal with that. But what I can?t deal with is over cooked, runny scallops and the most underseason steak and sides. People go to restaurants to pay to eat good food. Guess I paid for something else. Definitely will notbe going back. Read more
