A small boutique hotel with a restaurant in La Grande that offers a good location to nearby attractions such as the Eagle Cap... Train in Elgin. I reserved a single queen room with a private bathroom on the second floor with air conditioning. The roomassigned was number four at the end of the hallway and had a nightstand and lamp, a table with a chair, a chair in the cornerand a TV with cable mounted on the wall. I did not find a place to put my clothes away and there was no dresser in theroom. The hotel is in an old house and there is no lobby to check-in and has a keyless entry system. The first floor hasone guest room and a library with a sitting room in the middle of the restaurant. A railroad runs on the back of the hotel andis on a very busy street with a lot of noise throughout the night. A nice breakfast is offered with waffle and basic breakfastoptions and dinner is provided by Merylyn's Catering with a gourmet menu. Located in downtown La Grande on Adams Street acrossfrom The Local. It can be difficult to sleep with the sound of the trains, and the busy traffic noise on Adams Street. TheLanding is a nice place to stay in La Grande with free WIFI, a second floor balcony to relax, a small hotel vibe, and arestaurant that offers breakfast and dinner. Read more

My stay here was absolutely fabulous! This was my second work trip to La Grande and if I'm ever back I will absolutely stay here... again. Much better than the other hotel options in town. The bed was extremely comfortable! The location cannot be beat - youcan walk to all the fun places! The shower worked super well. I loved the provided noise machine for sleeping - I never had anyissues with it being too noisy to sleep. It was a bit difficult to maintain a cool enough temperature for myself for sleepingbut I was also there during a very warm spell! I do not hold that against them at all. Check in and check out were a breeze - itdoes feel a bit odd going into a restaurant to get to your room but you're in the right place! On top of all of that thecomplimentary wine in the afternoons was greatly appreciated. I also highly recommend checking out the local across the street(owned by the same people) - they have great breakfast options and a wonderful patio to sit at. Read more

Merlin and his wife took an eyesore out of La Grande and turned it into one of the most glorious restaurants. Me and my wife... went to the other day and had breakfast and it was very delightful sitting out front on the porch and the prices are absolutelyreasonable for everything going on in the United States with the inflation you can actually sit down and have a marvelous mealwithout breaking the pocketbook. Congratulations Merlin on an awesome restaurant. Read more

I went here for dinner and the waitress was super friendly and the place itself is super cute! I love the decor and overall... atmosphere. The food, however, unfortunately took a very long time to come out and was not my favorite food either. Our waitresswas amazing with keeping us updated on the status of the food, but waiting about 1.5 hours for food is just a little too longfor me personally, especially when it's not very great and very pricey too. We experienced a less than ideal stay at The Landing. We stayed in the bottom floor room #5. We knew this was a very old house,... but there was gurgling water pipe noise all through the night, on top of music playing loudly in the lobby all night. We calledthe number provided but no one picks up, so do not expect a hotel staff as it?s non existent. They won?t return your call, voicemail, email. I called repeatedly (including the morning it happened) and finally reached a human, the day after we checkedout. The person I spoke with said there?s nothing she can do - can?t give us a refund or partial refund. She said sorry it?sloud, just the way it is - no it shouldn?t be. The radiator has air in it and needs to be bled. So the next guest staying herewill be woken up (we have this all on video). The explanation about the loud music playing all night was the timer didn?t gooff. If you want to stay at a hotel and get a hold of staff if something goes awry - run from here. Understood there?s minimalstaff, but you should be able to reach a human staff member within an hour (not 2 days). You?re better off staying at a hotelwith staff you can reach. Read more
