Fantastic food & drinks. 9.2 out 10 in my books. I would definitely recommend coming here if you're trying to find a spot in La... Jolla. Definitely try the Cauliflower. This has to be one of the best crispy cauliflowers I have ever tried and it's one of mygo-to picks if a restaurant has it. Read more

Wanted to thank the Catania team for donating gift cards for a few vital employees from a local San Diego Elementary! They were... gifted to the front office managers for their hard work getting everything ready for the new school year to start, and they wereBEYOND gracious and touched by the thoughtfulness and generosity! I also wanted to extend my personal gratitude as well, Cataniaand its team truly support the community in so many ways and it shows through all they do to support every aspect of community, far beyond just superior food, beverage and ambiance! THANK YOU!!!!????????????????????????????? ???? Read more

Walked up the 3 levels to get to Catania, the signage was decent and it wasn't too confusing. Checked in at the front table, it... looked very busy but we had a reservation. The hostess did a quick check for our table and we were seated within 2 mintues. Werequested to sit near the railing and they delivered! The view was amazing, got there a little after sunset. It was ananniversary dinner so the waiter also brought us complementary glasses on champagne. We started off ordering some drinks: aNora (bourbon, mirtamaro, spiced blueberry vanilla syrup, angostura bitters -served on large rock) and a Classic Negroni. Thenwe ordered the Smoked Duck Liver Crostini appetizer (Dates, Currants, Almonds, Pickled Shallots & Parsley). For the main dish weordered Wild Mushroom Pizza (burrata, fontina, garlic confit, chili flake, sherry vinegar, thyme) and the Duck Sugo Orecchiette(braised duck, tomato, porcini mushrooms, juniper, parmesan). The garlic confit was amazing with the Wild Mushroom Pizza. TheDuck Sugo was super good as well. I think for both it was slightly too salty and the pizza was missing something for it to bereally good but I'm not a chef so I'm not too sure what it was missing. Overall the service was solid, the view was amazing, thefood was a 4/5. Overall great place and I would come back to try some different things. Read more

UPDATED Review: The food and service were very good! Our server was Alberto, and he is simply the best! He gave great food and... wine recommendations, and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal, thanks to him. The manager, Tara, who was working the host desk, wasexcellent. We had the focaccia, tuna crudo, crispy octopus, shrimp risotto, and whole branzino. We had the nutella semifreddofor dessert. Our favorite dish was the crispy octopus. It was tender and tasty, with a hint of spice! If you get this dish andit’s not tender, send it back and make sure you get this dish at its best—it will be worth it. Our second favorite dish wasthe shrimp risotto. Note that the shrimp comes without the tail so it’s not as messy as you might think! NOTE: Originalreview was 2 stars, and outlined our terrible experience with bad food and neglectful service. We ordered the crispy octopus, spaghetti with clams, and bucatini alla’amatriciana and some drinks. We were contacted by the restaurant to return and givethem another try. We did, and the above review reflects our second experience with the restaurant and disregards the first. Read more
