I guess I've been so busy ENJOYING Pam's hospitality all these years, that I haven't remembered to write a review! Well it is TIME ?? Grave's, where country cooking, community, and connecting meet along Alabama Route 36. Stop in and see for yourself and it won't be the last time ???????
My friend had the meatloaf, mac n cheese and vinegar slaw. I ate a pulled pork sandwich with mayo slaw. The food was excellent as was the atmosphere. Reasonably priced. Friendly folks. Worth the trip.
What a hidden little gem. I?m pretty sure everything was homemade. We got the meatloaf and chicken w/dumplings, green beans and mashed potatoes. It was all very good. Highly recommend you try it at least once. Old country store atmosphere.
I really enjoy breakfast (and the other two meals) at Grave?s Grocery. Pam a long time family friend started her dream of establishing a gathering place for her community. She continues to serve her community in so many ways. One way she has chosen is through the universal language of love through food. From her own recipes, community recipes and a recent infusion of new dishes, her faithful devotion has seen her tiny store grow into a destination. Matt, a long time leader in food service, has created new menu items from basic to down right crazy delectable. On Monday, Tuesday and Friday he offers choices like the Johnny Ringo, a Boarhog biscuit, the Granny Mae, the Doc Holiday, Barnes, Smitty and Bubba. I won?t spoil the surprise by describing the dishes. They are all delicious. Then there?s the music events. Local musicians frequently gather for some of the best music you?ll find anywhere. You need to make the quick trip to Grave?s Grocery in Lacy Springs for a real treat. I?m planning to journey through the menu over the months to come. Join me.
I love coming here on Saturday mornings and having a cup of coffee. I sit around for a bit and forget about how busy the rest of my day will be. Graves Grocery is truly a "community rest stop". I love to bring my wife and daughters here for lunch, they love the chicken and dumplings. My daughter said this place feels like being at grandma's house.
