If I could give this place zero stars I would. My family and I went on a family vacation to lake George. We decided that on one... of the nights we would eat at Charlie?s. My sister-in-law called ahead of time to make a reservation, they told us they do notmake reservations but that our family could come at 5:30pm. We arrived at the time they requested and the result we found wasappalling. The lady at the front entrance looked at our kids with disgust. When asked to be seated she rudely stated she did notthink they could serve us and reluctantly stated she would check with someone. She left making remarks with what looked like oneof the waitresses. She came back and asked us how many people were in our party again. We told her the number and that one childneeded a high chair. She rudely stated well a high chair is still a seat, it takes up space and then went back into therestaurant. She immediately came back out and smirked as she stated ?yea we can?t accommodate you.? The restaurant was basicallyempty and we were told over the phone we could come. She did not even apologize but instead found it amusing that she turned ourfamily away. This lady obviously did not want our kids there. The worst part was that my oldest son, who is 7 years old, askedme why they didn?t want us there. Don't go there on Restaurant week. My wife and I like to try different restaurants in Lake George during restaurant week. This... year 11 places participated with 3 courses for $30. We decided to try Charlie's Bar & Kitchen at the Marriott Hotel. When wearrived the hostess took her time to acknowledge us. The dinners came with an appetizer , entree and dessert. I had the Frenchonion soup and after two spoonful's out comes our server with our entrees. She said that because of Restaurant week the kitchensends out the entrees quickly. We said that we just started on our appetizers and she said sorry and walked away. By the time wefinished with our appetizer's our food was room temperature, Needless to say we felt like second class citizens because weordered off the Special menu. After tip and tax our bill was still $100. To Management: Don't participate in the restaurant weekif you are going to mistreat customers like this. The food was good and the service was attentive. The ambience needs a bit of improvement as it doesn't feel very special for... dinner when it looks more like a coffeeshop. The menu offered up enough options for diverse diet concerns. Read more

Went to the bar at 8pm on a Tuesday night in October. There were other people. Baseball and hockey on TV. Open and clean and... friendly atmosphere. Attentive waitstaff. I felt comfortable being solo female. Had grilled chicken sandwich, yummy. Notextraordinary but good. The local Beer Naked Ale also good. Recommend Charlie's Bar for dinner and a drink. Read more
