Not a fan, went in for a breakfast sandwich, and took 20 mins to fry and egg. empty cafe, only customer, 3 staff members. Never... gotten this "friendly vibe" just lots of indifferent hipsters, ho seem annoyed you are in the shop. Freaking love you guys. I have been hearing about The Root for a long time but didn?t actually make it out until I moved closer.... This is the place I always bring new people when they?re visiting Lakewood for the first time, and also the place I go to justrelax and decompress and people watch. The food is filling and the menu has something for everyone. Went here on a Sunday afternoon to get lunch and there were no tables available and no one was leaving. Literally, NOT ONE... person in the place was eating. Not one. Waited 30 minutes before an employee told a guy to get up. There?s a library across thestreet!!!! Go read and work on your screen plays over there. Food was ok. Read more
Don?t skip the food. It?s some of the best around. Often under occupied and a little loud. Perfect for a casual Sunday with an... old friend or a mid day pick me up. The espressos is slightly above average there are better cups of joe around but the decorand over all feel makes it a spot worth the stop. Read more
