This use to be our go to place for real bbq when we came to Texas to visit. Loved it years ago when the smoker was out front and... you got fresh meat off the grill. Chicken, brisket so dry couldn't eat it. Not on our list anymore.SAD Read more
Got the sample pack. We enjoyed the ribs and sausage; however, the brisket had no favor and pulled pork was very dry. The sides... were good, but nothing stood out. Overall was a good meal. Read more
I was behind this couple and was offended for them....They waited in line for their food, the wife ( who looked Mexican) was... told to put her phone away, by the server, while the husband ( who looked white) was left alone on his...Then they waited forthe server to attend them, while she stared at them for three minutes letting everyone else work...They got their plates, ribs,and then sat down. I ordered the sausage and brisket ( wont do that again) and then sat down. As I finished, I saw the husbandasking for more ribs, ( the special of the day, according to the sign) and was told that they are out. Their option was to waitan hour or receive another mystery meat. They opted to wait. I can not understand, how this "restaurant" could run out of theirmain deal, mid day. Then think is was perfectly okay to request that the customer wait, or choose from an item, that cost lessthen what they had already paid. Had my first experience recently while visiting Lampasas. The location is nice, as well as the actual business itself. However,... I was not impressed with the service or food. The cashier was neither inviting, nor friendly. The meat was nothing to write homeabout, the sausage was dry from sitting out all day, the brisket lacked moisture, as well as an forum of smoke absorption.Honestly, my favorite part of the meal was the BBQ sauce. Great meat. Fair service. Good sized portions. Good weekend specials. Outside restroom but it flushes.
