The name reminded me of the one in San Saba that sadly closed but was really good so I had to see if it might have been the same... one that moved. Even if no relation, I still have to give an excellent rating on the flavor of the meat and being reasonablypriced. The beans and potato salad were good also (really enjoyed that the potato salad was not full of large pieces of onion asso many are). Sauce was very good and unique, but the meat did not require it to be good or edible and that's what lots ofplaces don't understand and instead try to cover up with sauce, but not here. It only adds to the depth of the flavor that'sthere and complements it well in fact. Staff was very helpful, the place was extremely clean, and on a slightly less breezy dayI would love to enjoy the outdoor seating. I first ate at Young's BBQ at the old location on a motorcycle trip...after smelling the smoke I promptly turned around and rode... back. Great choice me, probably the best Texas BBQ I've ever had. Wanted to take my girlfriend, so routed our last tripthrough Lampasas but was surprised when it wasn't where I remembered. To be fair, I didn't recall the name, but afterconsidering other options (several in town that are really good) we settled on Young's. I was ready to put a good face on whatexpected to be an ok lunch rather than the sublime experience I'd had before, but imagine my surprise when I saw the same staffand menu! Apparently the previous location burned down, but I can report they've done a great job moving both the flavor andatmosphere to the new location in town. As before, 6/5 stars for flavor. Brisket was juicy, tender and had a great smoke flavor. I really enjoyed the peppery vinegar based sauce. Service was friendly... and the complimentary bread pudding was great! Read more
Brisket sandwich was fatty and flavorless. Potato salad was not much better. Paid $2.50 for tea, when I told them they were out,... they didn?t offer to make more or refund the amount. I think I would have gotten better food at 7-11. Read more

I enjoyed this visit... The brisket sandwich was good and not dry... The jalapeno sausage wrap was AMAZING... I did not get... to try any sides and wish I had been able to try their pork chops... I will try those next time for sure... Read more
