A group of 6 had lunch there Friday, August 12, 2022. From the cocktails to the lunch the quality was extremely poor and... therefore grossly overpriced. For a high end establishment we were very disappointed and would never return. I have had betterfood at a typical roadhouse restaurant. Read more
Can't review the food because we didn't receive any. We were on the patio, where there is a "system" of ordering at a window,... sitting down and waiting for your number to be called (I didn't hear one number called... you had to mill about near the windowto have a chance of hearing anything). It was busy and service was excruciatingly slow, so it took us 40 minutes to realize thatthey had lost our order. A LOT of confusion at the pick up window. You are given no receipt when you order, so not suprising.Anyway, when we finally probed deeper, we realized that they were serving the order two digits past ours. So we asked about ourorder and they said they had no record of it... yet the ordering is tracked with sequential numbers. Still scratching my head atthat one. It's a 30-minute drive each way to get there for us (and would be, minimum, for most people); we wasted 40 minuteswaiting; and we left without eating = big waste of time and gas for nothing, in the end. Do not eat here in August of 2022. We heard that nine waitstaff left on the same day. We had called ahead, but they lost the... reservation. We waited forever for service at every turn. A very unsatisfactory experience. Gorgeous building, good views.Don't know why we were seated in the back with no view. We were dressed nicely... good tables went un-used. Poormanagement. The food was tasty but not exceptional, and not in line with the prices. I had the curried shrimp, and I got 6shrimp for $42 I think it was. With nothing else but one scoop of white rice?? Those who ordered the chicken said it wasover-cooked, dry inside. Read more
I would like to say firstly, that I really wanted to like this place. I heard great things about it from friends, but it was not... as I expected. I had my family in from out of town and wanted to take them to a nice place. While the grounds were verybeautiful, I was not impressed with the service. I had reserved about 6 days in advance and requested the outdoor patio so thatwe could look out on the river. At first the person was very accommodating on the phone and said that we were all set! So I wasexcited. When I called again to change the number of people in my party (to 6 instead of 7), the woman said that she cannotguarantee the veranda...I was disappointed but I said ok. Then when I got there, she said it was full. They put us by thewindows, but it was not the same experience at all. There were fingerprints all over the window and most of the scenery wasblocked. They also seated us at a ridiculously large table that was made for more people, and I had to shout to talk to myparents on the other side. All this aside, the service was lacking. They forgot to bring my sister's wine orders and bread forthe table that we requested. The food was not worth the price and the drinks were so so. For what it costs, it was not worth itin my opinion. Had dinner for my birthday this evening and I felt compelled to at least voice my feelings about our experience. Firstly, let me... say what a beautiful venue you have. The Restaurant is situated on a beautiful view of the St. Lawrence and the building isbeautiful. I have to say that as a first timer, I was so excited to be there. We were greeted promptly and sat in a beautifulview of the St. Lawrence. Our server was courteous and helpful. We placed our drink order and ordered a bottle of wine. Shedelivered our order and poured our 1st and only glass of wine. We never saw her after we placed our dinner order. We served ourown glasses of wine from the ice bucket. Unfortunately, my dinner entree arrived cold. Had to ask for cutlery for my dinner. It was Octopus $27. I notified another server/ manager. I was very disappointed, I ended up sharing my husband's dinner. Wewere not only disappointed with the lack of service but the lack of concern. We won't be back and won't be recommending yourRestaurant to anyone we know. After paying approximately $200 for dinner I would have expected better from yourestablishment. Such a shame, would really have loved to recommend this Restaurant to friends and family because of thespectacular view and proximity to Gananoque. Read more
