I used to love the Tower Suites, but was astounded in the decline in service since Covid. Neither the concierge nor the business... center could figure out how to print a document I needed for a presentation and they didn?t have the proactivity to follow upand tell me they couldn?t. The wait to place a room service order was over ten minutes, and when I needed an aspirin in thenight at 2:00 AM, I was told their were none in the hotel but I could walk a few blocks to the drug store. A quality hotel. Very expensive for what it is - we paid about $1,500 for three days with an upgrade to the tower which I am not... sure was any better than their regular rooms. Morning tea for two in the room was $42. Massage for two (50 minutes) was $504. Overcharged by about $180 which took a call to the tower desk to receive the promise of it being corrected. Was told by anoffhand reception desk staffer that I should have checked out at reception to avoid such mistakes - but that's what I did! Received no apology. Asked for a phone call from a manager, but never received it. Was not fully informed about the upgradebenefits so we missed a dinner on the first night. Main pool under repair, but there was no statement of its unavailabilitywhen booking. Lessons learned: (1) It seems to me that you are treated as a cost unit, not a client with whom the hotel wouldlike to make into a return customer, (2) Don't go in January, as that's when major repairs may be performed, (3) Be very clearabout what you will receive in any upgrade.
