We did tater Tuesday and also purchased some ribs and turkey. The brisket and everything else was well cooked and very tender.... The sauce was sweet, but not overwhelmingly sweet. Sort of caught me off guard none the less. I do miss fried pies, but theirbanana pudding was fine. The signs say BYOB so that is another plus. Their crushed ice is excellent though. All and all,worth the stop. Granted it is out of the way, but just as good as I remember from decades ago when this was still cyclingcountry before all the houses were built and the new concrete hiway. Read more
Consistently good brisket, but everything else sucks. The sides area watery and bland, the fried stuff smells burnt and the okra... has husks still on it, and the rest of the meats are dried out. It looks like a good barbecue experience from outside, butunless you only like brisket I'd skip this one. Read more
A casual BBQ joint. You can eat indoor or under a covered patio at picnic tables. Free refills with no table service. Portions... were a little sparse and the fried okra had several pieces with the husk still on them. Not the best but not the worst. Read more
We stopped there yesterday and ordered brisket and ribs...we were super excited but also a bit cynical because it's so hard to... find a good bbq joint. For the first time in my life I actually returned to the cashier and asked for my money back. It wasTHAT BAD! Brisket was so dry and super thinly sliced. Ribs were just as dry with no moisture or flavor. Mashed potatoes werecreamy but bland. I never made it to the corn on the cob. The banana pudding was okay but nothing exciting. Needless to say Iwas super disappointed. It's a great LOOKING spot and neat to see all the nostalgia and memorabilia but I would NEVER recommendeating there. Bummer. Read more
