We came here for the Thursday South Indian buffet, but we reached the place quite late in the evening when the buffet was over. So, we went with ala carte and ordered 2 ghee dosas (with masala on the side) and a dahi vada. To our surprise, they gave us complimentary vada and halwa too. All the dishes were tasty and delicious.
Mediocre food, too spicy soup, almost burnt bhajia and insufficient quantity of Sambhar. Should look to reposition their food and only keep their authentic south Indian food and no other that they cannot provide with a high degree of authenticity.
Very good and melany our server was really attentive.service was fast and food was fire hot and spicy.
I used to goto this restaurant but what I ate there today was the most pathetic form of food and cooking I ever had in LA. Firstly the Vepudu Chicken had no spice no salt and it looked stale. The Uttappam was half cooked and Idlis were stale and even the Chettinad chicken felt totally tasteless. The Mango lassi was bitter like it was a week old and after complaining they have another one. The rice which came with Chicken Chettinad was clearly looking stale and yellowish & half cooked dry and wasn?t able to chew or swallow it. And yes the entire bill was 63$ ! Way too overpriced. They have changed the menu and the restaurant is all downhill now. I will never ever go there again. Advice to management : focus on quality as it takes hundred efforts to build quality and 1 to ruin it. Wish the restaurant people all well and hope they improvise going ahead.
Food presentation is great , ghee dosa is absolutely garbage, wait time could use some decreasments and could work more efficiently under pressure and under their busy hours (6-8pm PST).
I ordered many times from here. Initially I ordered delivery through doordash. It was mutton biriyani and the taste was awesome ?. Next time I thought to try something else and ordered chicken dum biriyani. OMG chicken dum biriyani was even better that mutton. Rice quality was top notch. Quantity is little less compared to other restaurants but that quality offsets that. Next time will try other menu items. Also want to mention that when I came here to pick up I saw the restaurant ambience. It was so good and clean. If someone want a good dining experience with Indian food please consider this.
My friend and I tried this place on a whim. Boy am I glad we did! I got Chicken Biryani. This dish was delicious. Multicolored long grain rice, a few pieces of juicy, tender chicken, and flavored with savory-hot spices. I enjoy spicy food and this dish made me sweat around even my collar. The chicken was so tender, I could remove it from the bones with a spoon. I had to pack some of it to go, but I ate it before it made it to the refrigerator. I?m definitely coming back when I need a spicy fix. This place could make a Mexican Vaquero cry!
Delicious food and great service! We came for Dosa Night, it?s like unlimited Dosas!!!! They have 8 varieties to choose from and comes with complimentary Vada, Tea and Sweet of the day. Keep it up!
One of the best reason to visit Lawndale is to experience Southern Spice Indian Restaurant. We offer a great time for people everywhere and our food keeps people coming back for more.
