My wife & I are searching Lawrence for great steak, but missed prime rib night (Fri, Sat) at Six Mile, so opted for some other... random plates. Ordered what I thought was going to be a filet of chicken breast that was fried, but turned out it was a filet ofbeef! The description just threw me off: "CHICKEN FRIED FILET | Hand Cut Filet Tenderized & Hand Breaded, Fried to a GoldenPerfection, Served with Mashed Potatoes & Country Gravy | $20". I guess I've never eaten anywhere that served country friedsteak and called it chicken fried filet. We are in Kansas, after all. ;) Here, we pound a steak (usually cheaper cut) thin andchicken (or country) fry it. Alternately, we filet a chicken breast, sometimes pound it thinner to help cook more evenly, thenwe bread and fry it and call it chicken fried chicken. I just recommend that Six Mile clear up that confusion and call it"Chicken fried filet of beef" or if they are using Filet Mignon, call it "Chicken fried Filet Mignon" - or the less-fancy"chicken fried beef tenderloin filet". Nobody is going to confuse that with chicken. "Filet" is a technique, not a dish.:) Anyway, it was very, very thin and a little small, but it was good and easily cut it with a fork. I'd recommend it with theloaded baked potato or one of their vegetable sides. Baked potato was hot & tasty too. Guess since this is so long (I rarelywrite more than a few words), and have the time, I'll keep going! Backing up, we started with the Bourbon Street Shrimp andthe Spinach Artichoke dip. Spin dip was good, pretty standard, nice & cheesy, nice & hot. Shrimp were slightly under, barelywarm and the sauce needs to be a little thicker so it will stick to the shrimp better. Just my preference, otherwise if you caneat pretty much anything that lives in the water like I can, give the shrimp a try. My wife had the Chicken Katherine: "CHICKENKATHERINE | Lightly Breaded and Baked Chicken Breast, Spinach, Swiss Cheese, Smashed Potatoes Topped with Garli Read more

Absolutely amazing service and food. I came in with my girlfriend about a week ago and Britten was our server. My water was... always full and she took great care of us. I got the chicken fried filet and my girlfriend got the spinach salad and although itwas wrong at first, she fixed it with a smile and in a timely manner. Money well spent! Read more

I have eaten here twice, and the photos are from my most recent visit. Each time I've eaten here the staff has been extremely... nice and the food has been amazing. I'd have to say that the customer service is the best aspect of this restaurant, and thefood is an extremely close second. Without a doubt, this burger that I ordered has to have been the juiciest burger I've evereaten in my life. There has never been a time before this burger, that I bit into a burger and had such a huge explosion offlavors, the fries were great as well. My girlfriend ordered the macaroni with chicken and ABSOLUTELY loved it. After this weate both the tiramisu and orange and chocolate swirl cheesecake; these deserts, both perfectly lived up to the standards set bythe amazing food. This tiramisu was creamy, rich and flavorful, with a texture only comparable to that of a cloud. Additionally, the cheesecake was a nice contrast, something we'd both never had before but were extremely delighted when we bit in. If you'rein the Lawrence area looking to have a nice dinner, PLEASE do yourself a favor and give this place a visit. Read more
