It was an experience, that's for sure. It's got a rustic feel, with head old photos of the logging town back in the day for... wallpaper. I ordered a cinnamon roll, corned beef hash, and a coffee. Here's where the experience begins. They have the menu onvideo screens by the counter. Then you order at the counter like it's a coffee shop. They take your name and you go find a placeto sit down. When your food is ready, they call your name and you walk up and get your food yourself. (This would definitely notbe ideal if you were trying to bring a family) The food is served on paper plates, with plastic silverware. Basically they seemto just be trying to save on having to do dishes... Or really anything. You bus your own table, and everything is disposable,and they even have this nasty pitcher type thing for you to pour your unfinished drink in. They also have sings on the tableasking you to clean, and sanitize it yourself. Now for the food... The cinnamon roll was big, but wasn't that flavorful. And itwas crunchy, not something I'm fond of with a cinnamon roll. It was alright, but not great. I didn't even finish it. The cornedbeef hash was amazing though!it was big chunks of corned beef that was tender and juicy, and homestyle hash. It was all seasonedwell. The downside was that it was on a paper plate that soaked up a lot of that delicious runny egg yoke. But otherwise it wasone of the best corned beef hash that I've had. The coffee was good, but being that it came in a paper cup, and that I wouldhave to leave my meal, get up, walk to the counter, and ask for a refill (if they even do those, I didn't try so I don't know) Ionly had a single cup. And I'm a big coffee fan. Usually I drink a few cups with a meal like this. So, if that cinnamon rollhad been on par with the corned beef hash, then I would have given the food 5 stars and this place 4 stars. Great little diner. The service was incredibly friendly & kind. The food was delicious & generously portioned. They have a... monster sized cinnamon roll, but it was light & fluffy & easy to polish off with no problem. Would definitely recommend ifyou're exploring the outskirts of Leavenworth & want to leave the busy city feel. Read more
Food was great, didn't take long on a bust Saturday morning. BUT, both myself and another customer found hair in our food, and... there was nothing done about. Cook definitely needs a haircut but this place doesn't seem to care about that. So good food, butbe prepared for some hair, gross. Read more
This is the place to be when travelling anywhere near Plain! Run by a family, mom, dad and adult daughter! Super... friendly! Outstanding food! We enjoyed breakfast, lunch, bakery treats, and cheesecakes! Every choice amazing! Highest qualityingredients. Home cooked! From homemade hollandaise sauce on top of two perfectly cooked eggs over fresh bread and thick slicedham, to burgers made from brisket with thick in house smoked bacon, brisket slow cooked for hours, homemade bbq sauce, fluffybiscuits, coleslaw that I could have eaten a bowl of, and desserts!!! Leave room for a chocolate cookie layered between homemadeicing or a piece of incredible cheesecake or chocolate peanut butter cake if that is more your thing! I do not think you couldgo wrong with any choice you make. The family are lovely and you feel good supporting them! The atmosphere is excellent! This restaurant is truly one of my favorites in the entire PNW for breakfast. The ambience, the food, the people, all top notch.... My girlfriend got the corn beef hash two days in a row it was so yummy. Being a Texan myself I can vouch for the quality oftheir brisket, it?s honestly the best I?ve had on the whole west coast.
