I had a great first time experience here. The restaurant is elegant and the food/drinks were the bomb!!! For appetizers we had... mussels and calamari which were both very good. I had the blackened salmon for my meal and it was very well seasoned and cookedperfectly, but could have come with more green beans. For desert I had creme brulee (my favorite) and this may be in my top 3creme brulees I have ever had! Will definitely return and try more items. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is becauseour waitress didn't come around quite as often as we'd like, but she was still very nice. Read more

We enjoyed a Tuesday dinner with 1/2 price drinks. Our appetizers were Brussel sprouts and spicy shrimp. Both were delicious. ... Shrimp were definitely spicy. My meal was pesto linguini with 3 large shrimp. This was a large portion, heavy on the pesto(right up my taste bud alley). My meal was tasty, the atmosphere was quiet, our waiter was extremely attentive and helpful, andthe general dining area was clean. There was outside seating under a tent near the public square. Again, relaxed atmosphere. Hang out and eat and people watch because Leonardtown Square always has something going on over the summer. I would recommendSweet Bay to friends. Read more

The ambience of the restaurant was intimate and warm. Sweetbay offers outdoor seating, if you'd prefer. We sat at one of the... small booth to the right. Parking may be an issue if you decide to visit on the weekend. It wasn't a terrible experience, but iexpect my food to be flavorful and not bland. I ordered the blackened salmon with saffron cream sauce, orzo (red peppersincluded) and broccolini. I was asked if I wanted my salmon cooked medium but was given the option of medium well-i opted formedium well. I'm particular about fish and I don't want my salmon medium. The salmon had a great crust on the outside, but Icould barely takes the blackened seasoning. The inside was moist, but bland. The orzo and broccolini was cooked to perfection, but were bland as well. My husband ordered the Pasta Primavera with shrimp (3 colossal shrimp) and he said the pasta was blandas well. But on a lighter note, our server was exceptional ????????. He refilled my water glass without me asking which waswondering. His timing when checking on us throughout our meal was impeccable. For the expensive price, it's not worth goingback for bland food. The food is very good, prepared to perfection. By perfection I mean flavorful in season, spice and your requested doneness. The... atmosphere complements the food. We were able to do outside dining and there was a live Jazz performance with 90's R&B covers. The ambient noise was not a problem as I could talk with my wife during the meal. Finally the few times I have been there themanager made it a point to just stop by and say hi and have a good night. Only reason it's not five stars is because I couldntwalk up and get a seat that wasnt taken. But I booked it on open table and was then able to be seated. Not sure why that was. Myrecommendation would be to come with a reservation; this is the best restaurant in Leonardtown. Ohhh and the bartender will takecare of all your libations. Read more
