The service was exemplary, and the folks running the place were absolutely friendly. My wife and I felt 100% welcome, and... that's important. I knocked 2 marks off for these reasons: 1) Price, for a soup & sandwich for me and a salad for my wife (andno beverages), it came to just under $40 plus a tip on top ... For a light lunch this is too much by at leasr 25%; 2) The foodwas just okay, certainly not good enough to warrant the price, even if the raw ingredients we're locally sourced. I wasparticularly disappointed by the volume of (peanut?) oil used on the fried stuff (such as the chicken and beans in thesalad). In conclusion, I really hope these folks can improve - the service really was fantastic, and they could easily earnmore marks with a reduced price and/or better food. (Edit added after I finally saw the restaurant reply: regarding the price,maybe one of us had a tea or coffee, the end price was still steep enough for me to notice - I also tipped really well (20%) dueto the excellent service ... To me, pricing should reflect _actual, reasonable_ mark-up and not an effort to price your productsto the neighborhood; regarding the oil, I really think that was a real issue, and it's definitely worth making an effort toreduce that. I have never personally had a bad meal or drink at this place. It has a nice outside space for animals as well. The staff are... welcoming, nice and willing to listen if you have particular needs or wants when it comes to your food orders, or drinks. Read more

I?ve been here for lunch multiple times. The meat on the sandwiches is delicious. The last couple times I was in there wasn?t... as much meat on the as I would?ve expected on a brisket sandwich, and I thought it might?ve been an off day. The meat to bunratio was off!
