loved the place. The guys performing live had an excellent selection, the lighting was moody without being dramatic. Waitress... was really sweet and the salad was delightful. Complimentary cornbread was a nice touch. They gave us a free desert. Had greatcompany too. Would 110% go again. Also the bottles of seeds on the table are nice. huge fan Read more

First time having brunch at Azur. We sat on the patio and it was a nice morning for it. I ordered the Bourbon fried chicken... French toast. It was a great blend of sweet and savory. My husband got more of a traditional breakfast of bacon, eggs andbiscuit. His food was good but I kept thinking it was a bit on the pricey side for it to be a breakfast dish that you could getanywhere that serves breakfast. (Perhaps that’s just his fault for not trying something a little more unique to thisrestaurant.) The service was good and overall, we enjoyed our experience enough that I would definitely go back to try dinnersometime. Read more

We don't get the hype. Third time here over the past several years. Service was great. Drinks were great. We should have sat at... the bar and ate elsewhere. However, we ordered the Phyllo shrimp and steak medallions. Both were some of the worst dishes we'veever had. We're not picky but for the prices you can get better food almost anywhere. Steak was way overdone and was notmedallion style but instead a deli style flat small cold looking steak. Shrimp included 3 actual pieces of shrimp and then anentire plate of crunchy honey on top of a bed of orzo that was also flavored of nothing but honey. Both dishes were almostun-edible and with a bill of $95 we certainly will not be back. As my husband said on the way home, "It's like a chef with fancyideas but no idea how to execute them". NICE STAFF, but CRAMPED SPACE, DECENT FOOD—Went here for a work outing and the food was decent. There is a nice variety of... cuisine. Good appetizers. The waitress was phenomenal, fast, and kind! I got the steak, which was quite salty and I felt likethe flavor of the steak was lost on the toppings/gravy. The drinks were great, though. Would be PERFECT as a date spot. Thespace is very cramped because it’s an intimate (smaller) dining space. Larger parties may feel enclosed or in the way becausethe tables are really close together. Overall: I will be back, but most likely just with my husband so we can experience itdifferently. Looking forward to trying it again :) Read more

Over the weekend, Fat Man Reviews ventured to Azur Restaurant and Patio in Lexington, KY. Azur is a chef driven bistro offering... locally sourced food in a stylish American eatery. My fiancé tried the Lavender Ginger Lemonade, made with Tito's Vodka, lemonjuice, lavender honey and ginger ale. It was lemon heavy, tart with a lot of soda. I had the Maple & Oak. This drink is madewith maple syrup, orange peel and Reagan's orange bitters muddled together and Four Roses. It was all bourbon with a slightorange smell. We tried the Pimento Cheese Fritters, fried pimento cheese balls and bourbon peach chutney. The fritters werefried well, and the cheese was creamy. The peach chutney was ice-cold and tasted like peach preserves with a lot of cinnamon. Itdid not compliment the fritters when combined. My fiancé ordered the 12oz French Pork Chop. This was served with macaroni andcheese and sugar snap peas, not what is on the online menu. The pork chop was cooked and seasoned really well. It was juicy andvery tasty. The peas had a nice crunch. The macaroni was overcooked, and the cheese sauce was grainy, it needed someseasoning. I ordered a Caesar Salad ahead of my entrée. This was made with romaine hearts, black pepper, Caesar dressing, grated Parmesan cheese and cornbread croutons. The dressing had a heavy lemon taste. It was good but very thin. The Parmesan wasvery fine and mixed with the dressing and became clumpy. The cornbread croutons were mostly burnt. For my entrée I had the AhiTuna. This is served with seared tuna, cooked to order(rare), Chinatown pork dumplings and chopstick spinach salad with alemon-ginger sauce. The salad was fantastic as was the dressing. The dumplings were cold and lacked seasoning. The tuna wastough to cut and chew. It had a heavy pepper taste but required salt. There was an orange sauce served with the dish that wasvery orange, sweet and tangy, but it did not help the dish. Azur has a relaxed atmosphere and a great patio. They s Read more
