Menu for Darae & Friends Catering in Lexington, KY

I cannot fully express my disappointment in this catering service. Besides being an hour late and arriving at the same time as... our guests, there were many other issues. The bar and appetizer should have been set up and ready when the guestsarrived. Obviously they were not. Not only was the bar not ready, but drink-ware we paid for was not provided . The caterer wastaking it from the rented facility?s cabinets. I was led to believe this company arranged beautiful fruit and cheesearrangements. This so called ?display? was laid at the end of the buffet table and not very impressively arranged. This wasset up minutes prior to dinner, not at the beginning of cocktail hour. The invoice clearly states the fruit and cheese is anappetizer. I had to ask for plates and napkins for the fruit and cheese as it was set-up without these commodities. Theinvoice also shows both mint tea and lemonade. Bourbon was poured into the tea making it not drinkable for the kids andteenagers in attendance. The lemonade and water decanters were nonexistent. Thus at least ten of our guests had nothing todrink. The chardonnay we provided was not offered. The bartender REEKED of smoke. Though the shrimp and grits were tasty, theywere served on the plate separately; as though the grits were one dish and the sauce was another. I?ve always had shrimp servedover the grits. The portions were meager, explaining the full pans of shrimp and grits brought out after the guests wereserved. The servers and attendants did the best they could, but were obviously in over their heads. I don?t believe they wereproperly trained for the tasks they were performing. What we planned to be a beautiful tribute to our son and his bride turnedout to be an embarrassment. Darea & Friends Catering catered a winter wedding I planned at Limestone Hall. Darea & Friends Catering team were professional... and fun to work with. I could tell the caterers wanted to be there and enjoyed their work. Their team members worked the entiretime and made sure all the wedding guests were well taken care of throughout the entire evening. The cheese and fruit displaywas elegantly arranged and the fruit pizza cookies were delicious! Dinner was served on time and they oversaw cutting andserving the wedding cake. They packed up to go boxes and extra cake slices for the bride and groom and left the kitchensparkling clean. The bride?s mother didn?t get a chance to eat during the reception and at the very end of the night after allthe food was already backed up a team member from Darea & Friends Catering went down to the loaded van and personally made her aplate to enjoy. They went above and beyond to make it a special day for the wedding party and guests! I highly recommend Darea &Friends Catering to caterer your next wedding or event! Read more

Darea & Friends Catering are amazing. They catered my daughter?s wedding and I could not have asked for a better experience. In... the planning stage they allowed for us to make custom menu that asked for a couple of strange requests. There was no questioningthey just did it! The day of wedding the staff arrived and got right to work. The food was spectacular and the entire staff wascheerful, on task and just a joy to have around.
