I highly recommend Firkin. I had some time this afternoon to enjoy a nice lunch & went in just based on how it looked & the... menu. I?m not surprised by all of the positive reviews. Great food, wonderful atmosphere & good service. If I lived nearby itwould definitely become a regular spot. The arugula salad and mussels in white wine sauce were excellent! Read more
Some of the worst service I?ve had in my entire life. I really wanted to like this place because the environment was fun and... the beer selection was good. Unfortunately, I had the foamiest beer (3/4 foam!) I?ve ever had in my entire life served here. Iwould?ve tried to ask the waiter about it but we went 30-40 minutes at a time between seeing him. In two hours, we were hardlyable to order two drinks & dinner (not for lack of trying to order more). Food was good, bar was nice, but service wasunredeemable. Would not come back, and wouldn?t recommend when there?s so many other good spots in Libertyville. Read more
Chicken schnitzel was disappointing... coating was weak and then it wasn't browned very much... it was good in the few places... actually browned. Beer was good, and a good selection. Would be willing to try again. Read more
When entering Firkins, the first thing I noticed was how massive the bar was. With both beers and wines on tap, there?s a... plethora of alcohol offered. The overall aesthetic of the place was unique and festive. The staff is very friendly and speedywith their service. The options for cocktails, wines, and beers are massive.. If you decide to visit, make sure to keep an eyeon the hours of operation as The hours are a little odd. When the weather is nice, it is pleasant to sit on the patio. Read more
