Yummy! Love their blueberry and cream cheese french toast. On my last visit, I enjoyed a ham and cheese omelet, fluffy pancakes,... crispy hashbrowns and crispy bacon. No wait on a weekday around 11 am. Lovely waitress. Read more
I didn't know they moved over here. The place they're in now is really nice and I mean really nice!. I don't remember how their... food was when they were on North 66th but here is pretty darn good! Today I tried a western omelette and oh boy was the hampretty chunky! I now feel like this is how a western omelette should be made! After our visit to Marsh Wren Community Wetlands: breakfast was in order. Our server Ellie was bright and Cheery, and... professional. Cooks Cafe is the epitome of home and comfort foods. My first time in their gorgeous new location! We were lucky???? and seated right away ( heard there can be a waiting line ). Better than average breakfast diner. Eggs were fresh, smoked bacon was good, bread fresh and food was prepared well. I really... loved the atmosphere. Marble with a touch of mahogany and old fashioned brass...bathrooms and all. Tile on the floor was prettynice. I would have given them a 4 plus, but once we were sat, we waited for 10 minutes to order and then another 30 minutesbefore our food arrived. I can't believe how this place has that many customers. Waiting time was around 30 minutes to get a table, food took almost a... hour to get to our table and the food itself was really greasy, presentation was OK but I can't stand greasy food. We had aorder of biscuits and gravy and gravy was not better than a package gravy you can get on a grocery store. I had worked inrestaurants and I know how to cook the classic American breakfast and I can tell you food doesn't need to be greasy to be good.Good luck to the people going there because with all that grease coming from the kitchen most likely will cause you astomachache or a run to the toilet.
