This bar has a lot of potential, but I haven't had great experiences unfortunately. The food is fine but mothing really wows.... The management finds ways to nickel and dime at every corner. One of the monthly specials was chicken strips for $8, but we weretold in order sub the chips for fries it would bring the price to the regular menu price of $13.95. $6 upcharge for asubstitution (when the menu states you have a choice of side and only lists salad or soup as an upcharge) is outrageous. So wecanceled that order. Then when we asked for our bill we tried to use our cougar card but we were told we couldn't use it becausewe had a couple drinks during happy hour and that counts as different promotion. So we basically saved a couple bucks on happyhour but spent more in the end because they wouldn't accept the cougar card. I've never had a restaurant use their happy hourpricing as a promotion to keep you from using a discount card. Edit to owners response: no complaints against the server. Shedid a good job. Relaxing place right on a lake. Good food and great drinks. Had three of the Kentucky mules.
Stay away from the crabby server at the bar! She?ll tell you to ?stop talking? if you try to talk to her. After having the worse... customer service this lady will expect you to leave her a tip and if you don?t she?ll come up to you and say something. Was not expecting the food or service to be good. Breakfast and service were great! We missed getting into Rusty Cow because... of the long lines. We will never worry again that we will miss out on breakfast because we liked Trappers. There werefamilies and couples enjoying the morning breakfast. There is plenty of seating. One tiny issue. The silverware was so smallfor the food being served. Oh and my tea water was not really hot enough. I will mention next time. Don't hesitate. Read more
