Five stars but with criticism. I happened to catch them 5 minutes before they closed. They did not look or sound happy to see... me. The guy that checked me out did relax a little bit after I started talking to him and got a little bit more friendly. Hegave me some advice on what to order. He is the first person I've asked if they had beer battered onion rings and knew what theywere. He did mention that this restaurant has been here for 40 years. These type of restaurants are right up my alley. I lovenon-chain non commercialized restaurants! I ordered the burger with cheese and bacon. It also came with chili, onions andmustard. The flavor is slightly better than average compared to other restaurants of this caliber and price range. The onionrings tasted good aside from a slight bitter taste from old oil. I forgive all of this because I did get in there at the end ofthe day and will definitely be back to try them again. Read more
Fred's is currently short on staff, which has lead to limited eating and no public restrooms. However, the staff on hand are... super nice and the food is great! They do have limited indoor seating and some outdoor seating. Would go back. ?? Hope they gethelp soon. Read more
I have been eating at Fred's for many years - covid has made it hard for them ( and many restaurants) to get help. This is a... family owned place and they treat you like family. The food is great, the atmosphere is great - stop by and get food anytimeyou can. Read more
UPDATE: I have been trying to get a t-shirt from here for over a year and they never have them. I feel like they are yanking my... chain. I even gave them my phone number just so they could let me know when they get the product they advertise, but do nothave. The hours here could be more convenient. I used to eat here with my family as a child and I decided to stop by on April3, 2021 to see if it was still as good as I remember. This was the best barbeque I have ever eaten. I got the beef plate withBrunswick stew and fries. Their barbeque sauce is amazing and their Brunswick stew is just delicious. This is one of the fewplaces I have ever had good sweet tea. These folks take pride in their restaurant and it shows through the quality of the food,the professional service and the clean dining room. I am probably going to become a regular. Read more
