5 stars is not enough for Babcock's. The young staff is lively and efficient. Our server, Lydia, was on point with her... recommendations. I had the chicken schnitzel, which was piping hot and served with mashed potatoes that tasted like homemadeand perfectly seasoned mixed vegetables. Oh! Be sure to try the fried pickles appetizer! They're thinly sliced and not overlysalty. My husband enjoyed the meatloaf, also served with mashed potatoes and mixed vegeys. Save room for dessert! The banoffeepie was heavenly. We met up with an old friend for lunch here and it was the perfect spot. Our first impression when we stepped inside was that... this was a cool space. It was a beautiful day outside so we ended up eating in their outdoor dining section. They explained wecould order from inside and then they would bring the food out. They had some really unique items on the menu such as Buffalocheese curds, new England shrimp rolls, pulled pork pie, as well as gourmet burgers, schnitzel flats, and a fried chickensandwich which I had and would definitely recommend. The prices were very reasonable (I can only vouch for lunch) and we had agreat experience overall. Will definitely make this one of our go to spots in Lombard. Read more
This place is delicious! Food was fantastic. You walk in and order at the counter, are given a number and then food is... delivered. Their selections are delicious and fresh and we were all really happy. Kids portions are way too big so that was theonly call out. Will def come back! Read more

I have to say first that I pretty much only like medium rare burgers and this restaurant doesn?t serve them that way. So it?s a... little unfair to rate them on their burgers but that?s what I ordered. The server said it would be well done, but i decided togive it a try. I got their pub burger. It was ok. My wife had the ginger carrot soup, it was not to our liking. The hummuswas ok. The fries were quite good. My son likes his burgers well done, so he was happy. The food came very fast. The servicewas great, the owner gave us a 3 minute history lesson on the building which was very informative. Read more
