Menu for Richard's Deli in Long Branch, NJ

We ordered to go, than realizing the drive back to Howell and my husband was very hungry we decided to eat at a table. We... opened the food, we each had corned beef sandwich, french fries and coleslaw. My husbands was a mess in the container, he putthe sandwich back together, mind you we hadn't left the place. I couldn't eat it. It was chunked instead of sliced and tough. The fries were cold and greasy, still we hadn't left the place. The waitress that passed made a comment because we stayed. Mind you we sat at a table by the deli and the room was empty except for one table that had 2 people. The cost of 23.00+ $ wasa waste of money. Best Italian Chicken panini I ever ate.

I have been going to Richard?s for their excellent brisket of beef and chopped chicken livers since 2004. Since COVID, the... quality of the food has gone down. So much so, that I threw out my brisket sandwich, which tasted more like over-saltedpastrami, and the chicken liver which was loaded with vinegar. This is the third time I have been disappointed. Richards used to be a staple for me and my family. 4 generations of our family have dined here very frequently. What once was a... cute, family-oriented, delicious NY style deli, has become AWFUL since their change in ownership. Idk what happened, but it?sdepressing. The food has taken a major hit. The past two times we went, we were heartbroken and very disappointed at all of thechange (for the worse). My go-to has always been a corned beef reuben and a side of shrimp salad. The last two times I went, theshrimp salad recipe was much different than what I?m used to and is frankly disgusting (overloaded with an unnecessary amount ofdill and other herbs). The corned beef on the reuben was dry and cut WAAAY too thick, with very little sauerkraut, awful tastingswiss, and bad quality rye. Very sad. I know Richard's has changed ownership, unfortunately the pastrami has changed also and NOT for the better. Richard's has always... been my go-to place for great pastrami but, like many eateries that change hands, so ends former greatness. Read more
